Carlos López Degregori’s first collection of poetry, entitled Un buen día (On a Good Day) appeared in 1978. Since then, he has written numerous articles and essays on poetry. López Degregori’s world of images is very personal and mysterious, with seemingly clear language and black humour. For López Degregori, a poem must have a powerful form and express strong emotions; it should lead an independent life of its own which surprises and awakens the reader, revealing the flip-side of things.
