Kamran Mir Hazar

Country: Afghanistan
Language: Farsi
Year of birth: 1976

Kamran Mir Hazar is a prominent Afghan journalist, human rights activist and writer who, since fleeing Afghanistan in 2007, has lived in Norway, where he also works. In the same year, his collection lahn-e tond-e asbi dar ezlâ'-e parvân-e sjodan (The Cry of a Mare about to become a Butterfly) was published. Mir Hazar experiments with language and juxtaposes poetry with journalism: ‘Poetry’, he says, ‘sheds light on the things in life that don’t change: love, death and the dry land.’
